We have had many requests to install sound into the Kato P42.  We did the research and prototyped the installation and shipped quite a few to our customers.  I must say that watching this loco pull a consist of Amtrak cars down past a station with its lights flashing and horn blowing really adds to the fun of model railroading.

DCC Sound installation:

• Dissemble loco
• modify stock circuit board
• Mill Frame to accept THT standard Cube Speaker
• Hard wire LokSound Micro decoder to Stock light board
• Custom wire 2 SM LEDs - headlight and rear light 
• Modify Ditch lights
• Custom wire in 2 SM LEDs for the flashing ditch lights & custom wire 4 red SM LEDs (DCC controlled)
• Load custom programming and sound project to decoder
• Each loco is tested for all functions and operation running for ward and back over turnouts and hills
