Prototype Information
The Hokuriku Shinkansen is a Shinkansen line currently under construction through the Hokuriku region of Japan. The first section, between Takasaki and Nagano, currently called the Nagano Shinkansen, opened on 1 October 1997 (the Jōetsu Shinkansen links Takasaki with Tokyo). The extension to Toyama and Kanazawa is well advanced, and scheduled to open in March 2015. Construction of a further section to Fukui and Tsuruga commenced in 2012, with proposed completion in 2025. The options for the route of the final section to connect to the Tokaido Shinkansen are being studied, with 3
alignments being considered, that would connect at either Maibara, or at Kyoto, or at Shin-Osaka.

Model Information
The train model E7 has a stream-lined top shape called one-motion-line following E2 shinkansen. The model has the
chic paint-scheme composed of sky blue, bronze and white. The train includes “Grand Class” coaches following E5.
The top car No. 1 of the train bound for Tokyo has even the passenger seats inside precisely carved.
The train is equipped with diaphragm couplers which are used in N700A, Series E5 and E6 Shinkansens to ensure
realistic appearance and secure coupling.  It is installed with motor unit complete with a flywheel to realize stable and
powerful run even in 12 car configuration.
