Returns and Refunds

Returns/Refund General Information Please email us at Sales@TopHobbyTrains.com within 3 days of receipt of merchandise for a Return Merchandise Authorization number.  Items must be returned with all original packaging, in unopened, unaltered, unused, new condition.  Items returned must be returned and received by TopHobby within 7 days of customer receipt and include a Return Merchandise Authorization number.  Items sent back to us without a Return Merchandise Authorization number can not be processed.  A restocking fee may apply to returned items.

Special order or installaiton items.  Shop fees and Sound package fees are non refundable.

Electronic items are non refundable.  These items are covered by the individual manufacturers and their warrantee programs.  Repair work should be directed to manufacturer.  TopHobby can and will assist in this process please contact us at Sales@TopHobbyTrains.com.

Defective merchandise:
All items sold at TopHobby are new and backed by the Manufacturer.  We will assist you in any way possible to resolve a defective product issue.  We may, at our discretion, take a defective item back for replacement only.  Generally, however, we advise all buyers to contact the manufacturer to resolve defect issues.  We do not give refunds for defective items only a like item replacement and only if the item is still in stock.
 
To return merchandise please do the following: 1. On the shipping label indicate the RMA # obtained via email from us. 2. Include the TopHobbyTrains invoice with a note indicating what is being returned and the reason.  (wrong item shipped, defect, decided that item was not needed) 3. Include all original packaging, instructions, warranty cards, etc. that were included with the item that is being returned. 4. Returned merchandise should be shipped to:

Shipping insurance:  TopHobby offers our customers the option to purchase shipping insurance. Click here to go to the shipping insurance page.  All returns should be shipped via a carrier that provides tracking and insurance. USPS, FedEx & UPS and all provide these shipping services.
