Car 1 - 141 00 300 Friendship Series #10-1-2 Sleeper - February 2017
This 10-1-2 heavyweight sleeper car was part of the 1947 Friendship Train that collected food donated by Americans in cities all across the U.S. to be shipped to the people of France and Italy who desperately needed help following the end of World War II. Without involvement of the government, the food was loaded, transported by rail and truck and shipped overseas for free, due to the generosity of the American people and their businesses. The box cars traveled through eleven states from Los Angeles to New York City before reaching its final European destination.

This 40’ standard box car with single door has red and yellow decorated sides and runs on Bettendorf trucks. The 1947 Friendship Train collected food donated by Americans in cities all across the U.S. to be shipped to the people of France and Italy who desperately needed help following the end of World War II. Ultimately, over 250 railcars of food and clothing were donated.

Ultimately, over 250 railcars of food and clothing were donated.


Car 4 - 120 00 270 40' Steel Box Car - May 2017
This 40’ steel box car with single door, murphy roof and side brake wheel is brown with white lettering and runs on Bettendorf trucks. The 1947 Friendship Train collected food donated by Americans in cities all across the U.S. to be shipped to the people of France and Italy who desperately needed help following the end of World War II. Ultimately, over 250 railcars of food and clothing were donated.


Car 5 - 120 00 280  40' Steel Box Car - June 2017
This 40 ' steel single door, murphy roof and side brake wheel is white with yellow band and runs on Bettendorf trucks. The 1947 Friendship Train collected food donated by Americans in cities all across the U.S. to be shipped to the people of France and Italy who desperately needed help following the end of World War II. This 40’ standard box car with single door has decorated sides with colorful banners and flags and runs on Bettendorf trucks. The 1947 Friendship Train collected food donated by Americans in cities all across the U.S. to be shipped to the people of France and Italy who desperately needed help following the end of World War II. Ultimately, over 250 railcars of food and clothing were donated.
