This 52'2" riveted steel express reefer with plug door is painted using the 'Empire Builder' paint scheme: Pullman green car with Omaha orange bands, flanked with yellow stripes and lettered in both Pullman green and yellow. It was built in September 1952 by Pacific Car & Foundry and runs on black Commonwealth BX Express trucks. These trucks were designed for baggage and express cars in high-speed trains. One of the important features is the bolster swing hanger suspension for lateral motion.
