These 40' drop bottom gondolas are painted brown and display the black & white 'Southern Pacific Lines' herald and white 'SP' in Roman style lettering. Stencil lettering is white and it runs on brown Bettendorf trucks. The Bethlehem Steel Company built this group of class G-50-22 drop bottom gondolas in the fall of 1948 and early 1949. They were delivered new to Southern Pacific and numbered into series #151000-152649. The gondolas have the "improved" dreadnaught ends and Miner brakewheel.
