Western Pacific®
Road Numbers WP 9248
These 40' drop bottom gondolas are painted black with large silver lettering, silver stenciling and runs on black Barber® roller bearing trucks. This is one of 300 gondolas used by the Western Pacific for hauling anything from coal or pipe to sugar beets. Sometime between 1928 and 1930 they were upgraded with new steel doors and ends. Although these general servicecars worked hard for decades, many survived well into the 1970s.
