This 50' standard box car with single door and no roofwalk is painted ATSF red with black ends and runs on black Barber® Roller Bearing trucks. Car stenciling includes the large Santa Fe "Circle Cross" logo & "Shock Control" logo with yellow "a smoother ride" and "SL" emblem. This paint scheme has lost its black side sills and black tack boards but retained its black ends. During this round of painting, ATSF has replaced its stylized "Circle Cross" reflectors with the 3X5 rectangles. One of the 500 car series 14500-14999 class Bx-81. Built by Santa Fe in 1961, ATSF 14555 has been serviced at the Topeka Shops in June 1974 and is equipped with SL Loaders, Shock Control underframe and nailable steel floors. |
